Time Out!

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.
- Anne Lamott

Could you use a break?

We were recently joking that 2020 is the year that keeps on giving and it’s packing a doozy of a punch for sure. Last week’s multi-day power outage (in the Northeast) was icing on the cake… Clearly we needed one more challenge to teach us how to navigate uncertainty all while trying to be compassionate, resilient, loving and patient. Sarcasm aside, this year is serving up these lessons and they will stick with us long after our masks are tucked away.

Here’s what we know … We are ALL STRONGER  than we think we are AND we are all learning a lot about ourselves and what is important to us in this one beautiful life of ours.

We also know we need a break. We need to check in with ourselves - daily - and give ourselves permission to take a time out. Our batteries need recharging… A few minutes here and there to sit, to be, to think and to breathe.

Sometimes the best thing you can do during your timeout is to ask yourself this simple question...

"What do I need right now?"

We just did and our answer was to take a walk and enjoy a nice big chocolate bar.

What do you need right now?
